SOL is based upon the 16 Vocational Archetypes. SOL's 16 Vocational Archetypes are a synthesis of Maslow's 19 characteristics of actualized individuals and Jung's 12 personality archetypes.
Archetypes were a powerful conceptual tool before Maslow and Jung and archetype models have continued to develop and evolve since Maslow and Jung.
Two other vocational archetype models worth examining include:
And, while we're on the subject, we might as well hyperlink some other archetype models:
- Chinese Horoscope
- North American Zodiac
- Mesopotamian Astrology
- Mayan Zodiac
- Celtic Astrology
- Tarot Archetypes
- Fascinate Archetypes
While there are many more models out there, and the practice of using archetypes to give us a sense of order and purpose in the world is as old as consciousness itsself, SOL is unique among all of these because SOL's Vocational Archetypes are skill based. SOL throws off the cosmic aspersions of astrology and SOL disregards the false predeterminism of Myers-Briggs and other "personality" models.
SOL aims to empower every practitioner with the knowledge that the 16 Vocational Archetypes are present within all of us, at it is up to us to develop our skills in all 16 disciplines if we aspire to be happy, healthy, and to attain mastery within any single dicipline.
